Seminar on Advancing Circular Economy Education Held in Tashkent

On October 9, 2024, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT), in collaboration with Central Asian University (CAU), successfully organized an engaging Stakeholders' Meeting as part of the Erasmus+ CirculEC project. The meeting focused on advancing curricula in the fields of circular economy and sustainable development, reflecting the increasing global need for sustainability-driven educational programs.
The event attracted a diverse group of participants from various industries in Uzbekistan, including representatives from the furniture and textile industries, consulting services, and local manufacturing giants such as AKFA and ARTEL. Also in attendance were members of the Business Women's Association of Uzbekistan, green certification firms, and leading academic institutions.
During the meeting, key stakeholders shared insights and perspectives critical for shaping educational programs that meet the evolving needs of industries transitioning towards sustainable practices. Discussions revolved around aligning curricula with industry requirements, ensuring that students acquire the skills needed to thrive in a green economy.
In addition to curriculum development, the event also addressed the challenges related to implementing circular solutions across various industries. Participants explored strategies to overcome these obstacles and drive the adoption of sustainable practices within their respective sectors.
